OUR REGION

A LITTLE SLICE OF PARADISE

MOTUEKA

The township of Motueka with its population of around 10,000, lies close to the mouth of the Motueka River. The area is surrounded with orchards growing hops, apples, kiwifruit & berries and internationally renowned vineyards. As one of the nearest towns to the Abel Tasman and Kahurangi National Parks, Motueka has become the base of many tourism ventures in the Nelson – Tasman region.

Apart from its great location and access to some stunning National Parks, the township itself boasts a lively main street lined with cafe’s, restaurants, boutique stores, gift shops and all the other usual necessities. Motueka also has it’s own golf course, a small airport with an aviation school and sky diving business, a Marina, the salt water baths, 2 cinemas and boasts a few good short walks along the tidal estuaries.

THE ABEL TASMAN  NATIONAL PARK

The nearby Abel Tasman National Park attracts thousands of tourists each year and it’s no wonder! Reknowned for its golden beaches, sculptured granite cliffs, and its world-famous coast track the Able Tasman is simply spectacular.

You can kayak, walk or water-taxi to view the world-famous Split Apple Rock, and numerous bays of golden sands and crystal clear waters. You can even swim with the seals!
